Every number on the 1000 Islands cruise comparison traces to a source; this page sets out where each kind of fact on the site comes from and how often it is re-checked.
What this site is
An independent comparison of narrated Thousand Islands cruises departing from the Canadian side of the St. Lawrence. Every sailing we compare is bookable through GetYourGuide or Viator; the site holds no inventory and takes no payments.
Where the tour data comes from
Price, duration, rating, review count, inclusions, cancellation terms and departure points are read directly off each platform listing on the date stamped on the page. Tour listing checked: August 2026. Last price check: August 2026. Prices are the from-rates in US dollars; the live price for your date is always the one at checkout.
Every tour page repeats the same fields in the same order in its Listing at a Glance table. Where the listing is silent on a field, the table says None stated rather than guessing.
Where the border and travel information comes from
Passport, NEXUS and ESTA requirements for the Boldt Castle landing are stated by the operator in its own published guidance, because Heart Island is US territory and the rule belongs to US Customs and Border Protection, not to the cruise line. Season dates, check-in times and dock locations come from the listings and operator information for 2026.
How traveller feedback is used
Traveller feedback reviewed: more than 6,700 reviews across the five listings. We read for patterns rather than cherry-picking praise: which length people wish they had booked, what the crew advises about pacing the castle stopover, which dock passengers navigate to by mistake. Quoted reviews carry the reviewer's name and country as published, and critical observations are quoted alongside positive ones.
What we cannot verify
We do not inspect vessels, ride along on sailings or audit operators. Weather policies, exact seat counts and day-of-sailing conditions are between you and the operator. Where we could not confirm a fact from a listing or an official source, the page says so.
